Entrevistámos Julius no ano passado e o mote da conversa andou em torno dos surfkayaks que este conhecido shaper brasileiro já tinha criado. Este ano, refez um dos seus modelos e enviou-nos as primeiras fotos do protótipo. Em baixo, é o próprio Julius que nos explica a justifica as alterações efectuadas a este surfkayak.

We already interviewed Julius last year about his creations while a surfkayak shaper. Now, he sent us ths first photos of a new prototype where he is working at the moment. It's more a "re-styling" about a surfkayak that he designed a few years ago. Enjoy the photos!

Ainda estava fazendo algumas correções como acertando os vincos laterais, abaixando o volume de rabeta e tirando algumas ondulações. Ele está saindo com 2,39m de comprimento e 64cm de largura. Tem a mesma altura que o modelo pequeno, porém tem mais borda como o primeiro kayak de borda que fiz.

* Diminui o volume de rabeta. Motivo: Cravar a rabeta na parede para melhor colocação nos tubos, Afundar mais a rabetaquando fazer a borda para projetar ainda mais para frente (vide modelo pequeno).

* Alonguei a rabeta. Motivo: Parar de quicar em ondas grandes, Aumentar a velocidade quando pranchado.

* Coloquei borda em todo o contorno e não somente na parte frontal. Motivo: Aumentar a velocidade nas cavadas.

* Aumentei a boca de entrada (argola): Para atletas mais fortes (gordos: eu), 3cm no comprimento e 1m para cada lado.

KAYAKSURF Costa Rica / Alejo Pacheco Wipeout!

Alejo Pacheco / Costa Rica / 01.06.11 / Uma onda que correu mal...



Alejo Pacheco, NEWS TEAM kayaksurf.net, fez na semana passada umas ondas de luxo algures na Costa Rica. Enviou-nos vários packs de fotos e aqui fica mais um que carrega uma longa história. Todos sabemos que Alejo é um dos poucos "big wave riders" do kayaksurf mundial. As suas fotos e vídeos são únicos e inesquecíveis. Estas fotos mostram-nos uma onda má. Uma das que não correu bem. Alejo enviou-nos um relato pessoal e sentido sobre o susto que apanhou... lesionou o ombro e os ligamentos do braço direito, partiu a pagaia, ejectou e foi salvo quase in extremis por um destemido "capitão" Maurício que, com um pequeno bote de 15 cv. entrou ondulação dentro à procura de Alejo.

O kayaksurfista confessa-nos que, em 31 anos a surfar ondas, nunca apanhou um susto tão grande. Partir a pagaia, lesionar o ombro, ejectar-se do kayak e quase não conseguir nadar... felizmente que tudo acabou bem. Basta ver as ondas que estavam para imaginarmos o susto que deve ter sido...

We all know that Alejo is one of the few "big wave rider" surfkayaker worldwide. His photos and videos are always something really awesome and, at the same time, powerfull. Last week, Alejo had some of the best surfing days of this year somewhere in Costa Rica. He already sent us several photo packs and today, we publish one more. This one is very special because it shows a fearful wipeout of Alejo. It was a big wave (like always), where Alejo broke is paddle, injured his shoulder and had to leave the kayak.

After that, he struggled to swim with pratically one arm with big waves coming all over. Fortunately, a real champion called Mauricio saw everything happening and, with his small boat, made a great rescue in the middle of a powerfull swell. In the end, after a big shock, everything was OK. Wacth the photos...

Bruno Melo won BEST Wave Trophy by kayaksurf.net in Galicia, Spain

Troféu "Best Wave / kayaksurf.net" na prova de Razo / Bruno Melo de novo vencedor!



O kayaksurf.net patrocina o Troféu "Best Wave" que premeia a onda mais pontuada do evento. Na prova nacional da Foz do Arelho, Bruno Melo sacou uma onda de nove pontos e, naturalmente, ganhou o troféu. Curiosamente, o atleta está também na Galiza para participar na prova de Razo e... repetiu a proeza! Parabéns Bruno!!

kayaksurf.net sponsors the "Best Wave" trophy in Galicia contest (Spain). In Portugal, on the first competition of the year, Bruno Melo won this trophy with a nine points wave (!!). A nova aventura de Nuno Pereira, NEWS TEAM kayaksurf.net




Nuno Pereira pertence à nossa NEWS TEAM e, para além do kayaksurf, é um afincado praticante nos kayaks de mar. Foi ele que, juntamente com Rui Calado, fez a travessia da nossa costa em kayak de mar (Julho de 2010). Foram 900 km em autonomia com muitas peripécias pelo meio. Agora, o projecto é ainda mais desafiante... volta à Península Ibérica com início previsto para 12 de Maio de 2012 e calculada com uma duração de 107 dias (3459 km divididos em 87 etapas).

Em baixo, mas algumas informações sobre o projecto e o link para o blog da expedição. O projecto está em fase de angariação de fundos, apoios, patrocínios... tudo! Boa sorte Nuno!!

Nuno Pereira belongs to our NEWS TEAM and, after making the sea crossing around Portugal with Rui Calado last year (900 km in one month), he is now involved in a new project. Sea kayaking again but, this time, around Iberian Peninsula. The project will start (probably) in 12th May 2012. Will be 3459 km divided in 87 steps. DOSSIER COMPETITEURS COUPE DE FRANCE
A. Coupe de France 11-12 et 13 juin 2011

National Waveski Circuit 2011, this competition will be runned during 3 days : June 11-12 & 13 - Plages des Cavaliers et de la Barre Anglet.

If timing is ok, we'll organize a Tag Team. Each club will present 1 team, with 4 licenced membres from the same club : 2 open, 1 junior, 1 lady. Free entries.

B. Competition & categories :
4 riders on each heat,
20 minutes heat (30min for finals). 10 vagues maxi for each rider - 2 best waves kept. The 2 best riders of the heat are qualified.

1/4 finals and Semi finals will be runned on Man on Man (2 riders by heat) if conditions are ok, to get new and better surf show

OPEN : all ages and gender
LADIES : Women since 13 years old
CADETS : 13 to 15 years old
JUNIORS : 16 to 18 years old
TAG TEAM : Team competition, 4 members per team
