Darren Bason é um dos grandes nomes do kayaksurf mundial. Habituado a surfar nos melhores palcos internacionais de kayaksurf, esteve este ano em Portugal para participar no Santa Cruz Ocean Spirit.

Chegou, viu e venceu a Expression Session para a Melhor Manobra. Infelizmente, não pôde participar na Taça do Mundo - seria um luxo vê-lo frente a frente com Edu, por exemplo.

Darren foi campeão do mundo em 2005 na classe IC e é actualmente o capitão da selecção inglesa de kayaksurf. Para além disso, é elemento da Mega Flying Squad onde se encontram alguns dos melhores kayasurfistas mundiais. Darren Bason - Yes indeed. I cant thank You and Bruno (Melo) and all the others enough , it was the best comp I have attended, great beach, great people, great weather and the Ocean Spirit event has done more for surf kayaking (profile ,prize fund ,judging ) than anything else to date. Congratulations on such an awesome event and hopefully this will get the Worlds attention it rightly deserves.
