Great Surf, lots of media, low numbers but a great show. Australia is still in its infancy when it comes to the sport of surf kayaking but when it comes promoting the sport here we're doing a pretty good job of it. Coverage from news papers and television both local and State as well as a large crowd on the Hill at Alex Headlands was just terrific and will no doubt give the sport the boost it requires.
We held 3 separate divisions Hp, plastic and waveski as well as and expression session which was timed for the tv crews, cant wait to see the footage on the creek to coast lifestyle show on channel 7.

The HP final was eventually contested by Darren and Myself, it was full on with both of us landing multiple aerials and at the end of 20minutes we tied, separation was by count back which Darren won by .5 of a point congadulations Darren.
The waveski final was between Damien Vickery and Myself, Damien racked up heaps of air time which I was unable to match, another second for me.
Congradulations to all the other competitors who put on a great show in the 3 - 5 feet conditions at Alexandra Headlands bluff, until Santa Cruz for round 2 of the world Cup in March.
