EXPEDIÇÃO KAYAKSURF PERU - EQUIPA DE LUXO IRÁ PRODUZIR DOCUMENTÁRIO



Chris Harvey, Bill Mattos, Steve Childs, James e Laura Knight vão para o Peru, mais propriamente para Chicama, à procura da onda mais longa e consistente do mundo.

"Next month a team of UK kayak surfers will be travelling to Chicama (Peru) to retrace the roots of the sport (the oldest for of surfing in the world) amongst the ancient Peruvian civilisations and the longest wave on the planet.

The team consisting of Kayak Surfers, Designers, Photographer and Archaeoligist will set out to to tell the story of this ancient culture in a magazine and video documentary, examining the history and showcasing the new level of kayak surfing by capturing some of the best footage ever.


Chicama

A onda de Chicama é famosa pela sua extensão e consistência e é considerada "the longest wave in the world". Chris e Bill Mattos - já entrevistados pelo kayaksurf.net - irão surfar com James e Steve a documentarem toda a experiência. Na calha já estão vários artigos para as melhores revistas da especialidade e um DVD produzido pelas First Third Productions.



Peru

Chris revela também que um dos objectivos da expedição, é contrastar as milenares embarcações peruanas - com que os pescadores locais enfrentavam as grandes ondas - com os modernos surfkayaks da MEGA.
