Já íamos no terceiro dia sem condições para dar início ao evento mas Peniche está ao rubro com o evento. O "The Rip Curl Pro Search" traz a Portugal os melhores 45 surfistas masculinos e as 17 melhores surfistas femininas do circuito ASP. Kelly Slater, nove vezes campeão do mundo, é a estrela maior da companhia mas, por estes, dias, é comum verem-se caras bem conhecidas pelas bandas de Supertubos e Lagido. Após dois dias de mar muito pequeno e uma violenta noite de tempestade que inundou parte da logística em Supertubos, a manhã de quarta feira nasceu com ondas gigantes mas muito desordenadas. Durante o dia de ontem, as ondaças de 4-5 metros que ladeavam o Baleal a sul, levaram os surfistas a uma sessão de tow-in que acabou por ser protagonizada pelo líder do ranking, o australiano Mick Fanning juntamante com Taylor Knox. Luxo!



Hoje, quinta-feira, a prova teve início às 9.30 em Supertubos e Tiago Pires foi prematuramente eliminado. Em baixo, algumas fotos que tirámos no final da tarde de terça onde dois norte-americanos treinavam na praia de Supertubos.

"The Rip Curl Pro Search" is in Peniche, Portugal. The event brought the best 45 world ASP surfers and the 17 best women surfers. The conditions were not good to start the event since monday and, after a stormy night of this tuesday, everybody thoughts that the competition would start wednesday. Wrong bet... big big waves but completly massed. So, let's see if today will be the very first day of the event.
