Finalista no Mundial de 2009 nas duas classes (HP e IC), o inglês James Hawker é um dos craques mundiais da modalidade. Já o entrevistámos há três anos mas podemos vê-lo de novo nesta sequência de luxo tirada por Pete Copp em Santa Cruz no Ocean Spirit enquanto treinava. James Hawker é designer e, para além de ter colaborado com a Mega, tem agora a sua própria marca: Future Kayaks.

É, reconhecidamente, o evento que colocou o kayaksurf ao mais alto nível nacional e internacional. Anfitrião de luxo de vários desportos de ondas, o Ocean é já um marco mundial para orgulho do nosso país. O Ocean Team está de parabéns por, somente em três edições (!!) já ter alcançado tão elevados patamares. Aqui ficam dois vídeos para recordar...

It's the biggest world wave sports festival. It happens since 2007 and, only in three years, reached the highest levels. This year, we had the Kayaksurf Worlds (together with the Kitesurf Worlds). Two videos to recall this huge event. Next year we'll have more!

A FreeSurf continua a ser a única revista gratuita dedicada aos desportos de ondas e é mensalmente distribuída nas principais lojas de surf, associações académicas e algumas mega-stores de material desportivo. The kayaksurf.net section on this month edition of the portuguese magazine FreeSurf, is about the kayaksurf worlds championships. This mag, is distributed in all country by the main surf stores and by all the academic associations. AS NOVAS MÁQUINAS APRESENTADAS NO MUNDIAL DE KAYAKSURF 2009 EM PORTUGAL

Ao todo, foram 9 surfkayaks apreentandos no Mundial de Portugal. Claro que alguns deles já constavam em alguns mercados - exemplo dos designs de Spencer Cooke - mas, a sua apresentação na Europa, foi feita no nosso Mundial. Algumas marcas nacionais também aproveitaram o evento para apresentarem as suas novidades: a RPF surgiu com o Rapanui e o Diamond e a Watertech, com o ONA. Aqui ficam as primeiras imagens e, lá mais para a frente, algumas entrevistas com os construtores.

There were 9 new surfkayaks presented in Portugal Worlds- a record I suppose. Of course that some were already known by some markets - example: the new desings from Spencer Cooke. The portuguese brands also take the opportunity to introduce their new designs: RPF with Rapanui and Diamond; Watertch with the ONA. Let's take a look of them and, forward, we'll have some interviews about these releases.
