GALICIA PADDLING ASSOCIATION with KAYAKSURF

FEDERAÇÃO GALEGA DE CANOAGEM ADICIONA KAYAKSURF AO SITE OFICIAL

Aos poucos, a modalidade começa a fazer parte do calendário anual das diversas federações de canoagem. Desta vez, o exemplo vem dos vizinhos da Galiza. A Federação Gallega de Piraguismo (FGP) já tem o kayaksurf na sua página oficial. Depois da criação do circuito, dos sites e do Club, chegou o reconhecimento institucional por parte da FGP. Parabéns pelo grande trabalho que os nossos amigos galegos têm feito em prol da modalidade!! Podem clicar na imagem de cima e visitar o site.

The Galicia Paddling Association recognized kayaksurf as one of it's disciplines. After the creation of websites, Galician circuit and the Galicia Kayaksurf Club, now this good news. Grande dia de surf na Austrália no passado dia 1 de Fevereiro. Na água, Steve Farthing, Darren Bason e Terry Petch - Random Team. As fotos são de Ming e o report é, como habitualmente, do nosso NEWS TEAM man da Austrália, Steve Farthing. O report tem dezenas de grandes fotos e a selecção foi difícil... mas aqui estão as seleccionadas por Steve!

Finally some decent swell has come our way, it all started on the 1st of Feb and is still powering through on the Gold and Sunshine Coast point breaks. I've been making the most of it surfing Snapper Rocks and Greenmount all last week and then up to Point Cartwright to catch up with Darren and Terry where we had an awesome session. This can be a pretty heavy wave with heaps of rocks and a breakwall to contend with if you get caught inside, we all had some great rides including a few barrels. That afternoon I took the renegade out to Moffat beach to get a feel for it in big waves. First wave I went for was an 8 foot set wave went for a huge air landed in the pit and had a 20min swim next time I'm wearing the quad belt. After that I took the Evo out for the best 2hrs I've ever had in a kayak. Looks like the swell is going to hang around for another week, cant wait to get back into it. Enjoy the pics

E QUE TAL ALUGAR UM WAVESKI OU UM SURFKAYAK?



O Nuno Pinto é um entusiasta do waveski e kayaksurf. Natural de Lisboa, tem uma autêntica colecção privada de fazer inveja ;) Na calha está um projecto de aluguer de material que permitirá a muitos experimentarem o kayaksurf e/ou o waveski de uma forma bastante prática. Conhecemos o Nuno por intermédio de outro aficionado pelas ondas - o Guto - e depressa vimos o entusiasmo e a boa onda com que ambos encaram este vício pelo mar. Para já, o Nuno afirma que está na fase de reunir material - neste momento, já tem um wave da Island, da Watertech, da Atlantic e da Rotomod. Na calha está igualmente um Shark da RPF. Da nossa parte, todo o sucesso para a ideia e, claro, um grande abraço ao Nuno ;)

Nuno Pinto is an enthusiast of waveski and kayaksurf. He lives in Lisbon and has this "renting a waveski project". For now, is personal collection is pretty good! 4 waveskis from different brands and more to come in the next few weeks. It's cool to see that this kind of idea is now possible because there are lot's of people interested in trying kayaksurf or waveski. All the best for the idea Nuno ;)

Já todos sabemos que o Miguel é o nosso craque da "nova geração". Aquando da primeira entrevista, logo antevíamos que o Migas - como é mais conhecido - ia dar que falar. E assim foi! Passados escassos meses, 4º lugar no Mundial de Kayaksurf e a "contratação" pela Watertech para figurar nas fileiras da prestigiada W-Team. Entretanto, teve direito a uma entrevista publicada na FREESURF e sacou mais um troféu na Galiza. De resto, continua a puxar aos limites o seu ONA. O kayaksurf da costa Este dos EUA já só pensa no Mundial de 2011 que irá ser realizado na costa Atlântica. A Savannah Canoe Kayak desenvolve há vários anos inúmeras actividades em prol de variadas disciplinas da canoagem - claro que lá está o kayaksurf! Este é o vídeo de apresentação para 2010. Tal como nos anos anteriores, o kayaksurf.net apoia todas as iniciativas do SCK!

News from SCK: There will be some cool prizes at this years Surf & Jam on Tybee Island, Oct 30th 2010.. There will be Mega and Tiderace demo boats available and Saltwood Paddles will be putting up a prize or two. We hope to give away a kayak at the event. More info about that coming later. The event isaimed to introduce beginners into the sport of surf paddling. Portion of money raised will be towards a local charity.
