Xabi Olano, 3º classificado na categoria kayaksurf IC em Mundaka, envia-nos algumas fotos que sacou durante o passado sábado. De acordo com Xabi, estas foram as melhores ondas do campeonato mas... quando a maré começou a descer, tudo ficou bem mais baixo. Fica o registo!!

Xabi Olano, 3rd place in kayaksurf IC last weekend in Mundaka, sent us some photos he took during saturday. According to Xabi, this was the best wave period in the event. When the tide started to descend... things just stayed pretty lower. Enjoy the photos!

Campeonato de Kayaksurf de Mundaka 2011 / RESULTADOS

Oskar Martinez e Txema Carreto, NEWS TEAM kayaksurf.net, enviam-nos todos os resultados da IX Edição do Campeonato de Kayaksurf de Mundaka que decorreu este fim de semana. Natural destaque para André Pinto que subiu ao pódio na 4ª posição kayaksurf HP (no ano passado, o André venceu esta classe). O evento decorreu todo no sábado com heats de 15 minutos e ondas de metro. Este ano contou com a participação nacional de quatro atletas: André Pinto, Miguel Carvalho, Pedro Castro e Paulo Simões.

Ouatro elemento representante da língua portuguesa, foi o nosso amigo brasileiro Maurício Borsari que recebeu um troféu pela sua presença - galardão que serviu igualmente para celebrar o trabalho que tanto Maurício como Roberta (irmã do atleta), têm desenvolvido em prol do kayaksurf. Parabéns a todos pela participação e vamos ao report de Oskar Martinez. Mais em baixo, o slide-show com mais fotos e, durante a semana, teremos mais novidades!!

Oskar Martinez and Txema Carreto, NEWS TEAM kayaksurf.net, sent us all the results from this year edition of the Mundaka Surfkayak Championship. The event took place during last saturday with fine conditions: 1 mt waves and 15 minutes heats. Congratulations for all and check all the results and photos. During the week, we'll publish more news about this event that kayaksurf.net proudly supports since 2005.

A special note for the trophy that Mauricio Borsari won for his presence (once more) in Mundaka. The trophy was also to celebrate his work together with his sister, Roberta Borsari, about the promotion of our sport. Congratulations for all!

Estos son los resultados los primero del campèonato y los segundos del campeonato provincial de Bizkaia. Hicimos todo el sabado con nueve horas de competicion, a la mañana y mediodia condiciones muy buenas y en algunos casos fuertes, mas de uno nado. y a la tarde fue bajando la fuerza. gran nivel de los competidores y muchas maniobras espectaculares, esta prueba es tambien clasificatorio para el team basco, por lo que hubo mucha competencia.

Hubo un premio especial para Mauricio por venir a Mundaka varias veces a competir y otras a entrenar , premio compartido con su hermana por su labor a favor del kayak surf, un agradecimiento a todos los competidores y en especial a los extranjeros que vienen cada año a Mundaka .

KAYAKSURF Mundaka 2011 / 1st WINNERS

1ºs VENCEDORES confirmados / Campeonato de Kayaksurf de Mundaka 2011



São os primeiros vencedores confirmados! Chris Hobson venceu a classe kayaksurf HP e sacou ainda o quarto lugar nos IC's. O júnior Andy McLelland ganhou em ambas as classes da sua categoria (HP e IC) e ainda ficou em terceiro lugar no Open HP. Muito bom!! Os dois atletas da Irlanda do Norte estão de parabéns. Entretanto, em breve o full report ;)

These are the first winners confirmed: Chris Hobson was 1st in HP and 4th in IC. The junior Andy McLelland was 1st in HP + IC and also 3rd in Mens HP. Congratulations for both northern ireland surfkayakers! Soon, full report with all the results! Hard night ;)

MUNDAKA 2011 / Campeonato deve terminar ainda hoje!



Javi Diaz, NEWS TEAM kayaksurf.net, ligou-nos agora mesmo de Mundaka onde estão a decorrer as finais de kayaksurf IC e, se as condições o permitirem, as de HP poderão decorrer ainda hoje. A esquerda está a funcionar e, para já, os nomes que estão presentes nas finais - esperamos confirmações - são os de Andy McLeland, Edu Etxeberria, Chris Hobson e... André Pinto! De acordo com a mensagem que Txema Carreto - NEWS TEAM kayaksurf.net - nos enviou, a esquerda de Mundaka funcionou hoje com um metro. Muitos atletas na água a treinar com direito a um final de tarde de luxo em que alguns saíram do mar já de noite. Amanhã, de acordo com a organização, teremos às 8.30h, a reunião dos chefes de equipa; às 9h, inscrições e às dez, o início da competição. Boa sorte!!

Accordind to Txema Carreto - NEWS TEAM kayaksurf.net - the Mundaka left worked today about one meter high. There were already lots of surfkayakers in the waves trainning for this weekend Kayaksurf Championship in Basque Country.
