Mega Bullitt, IC class, continues to gain followers in kayaksurf. Paulo Simões, portuguese surfkayaker, bought is own this summer and he's completly conquered by this surf machine. These first photos were taken last week in Figueira da Foz, Portugal. Enjoy it!

Entrevistámos Julius no ano passado e o mote da conversa andou em torno dos surfkayaks que este conhecido shaper brasileiro já tinha criado. Este ano, refez um dos seus modelos e enviou-nos as primeiras fotos do protótipo. Em baixo, é o próprio Julius que nos explica a justifica as alterações efectuadas a este surfkayak.

We already interviewed Julius last year about his creations while a surfkayak shaper. Now, he sent us ths first photos of a new prototype where he is working at the moment. It's more a "re-styling" about a surfkayak that he designed a few years ago. Enjoy the photos!

Novo Surfkayak made by Julius Wieczorek


Ainda estava fazendo algumas correções como acertando os vincos laterais, abaixando o volume de rabeta e tirando algumas ondulações. Ele está saindo com 2,39m de comprimento e 64cm de largura. Tem a mesma altura que o modelo pequeno, porém tem mais borda como o primeiro kayak de borda que fiz.

* Diminui o volume de rabeta. Motivo: Cravar a rabeta na parede para melhor colocação nos tubos, Afundar mais a rabetaquando fazer a borda para projetar ainda mais para frente (vide modelo pequeno).

* Alonguei a rabeta. Motivo: Parar de quicar em ondas grandes, Aumentar a velocidade quando pranchado.

* Coloquei borda em todo o contorno e não somente na parte frontal. Motivo: Aumentar a velocidade nas cavadas.

* Aumentei a boca de entrada (argola): Para atletas mais fortes (gordos: eu), 3cm no comprimento e 1m para cada lado.

A Watertech fez-se representar em Mundaka com vários kayaksurfistas da W-Team. Entre portugueses e bascos, os surfkayaks ONA e 666 subiram ao pódio várias vezes. Fica o resumo enviado por Rui Calado, NEWS TEAM kayaksurf.net e um dos homens da W. Parabéns!

Watertech was present in Mundaka 2011 with several riders from the W-Team. Between portuguese and basques surfkayakers, two surfkayaks from Watertech were many times in the podium. Check the report from Rui Calado. Congratulations!

E Generation by Watertech

After some advances on the construction side - probably the first composite-seamless-made-in-one-piece kayaks in the world - we are going to make it again... This time we are betting on the E-Power...

"E" stands for Epoxy resin.

Some people know already what is the difference between this kind of resin and Polyester or Vinylester. Epoxy is much stiffer, resistant and have more gluing properties.

This means stronger kayaks, harder, more impact resistant and lighter...
So we changed all our tech levels except the top one.

Now we have:

- Basic E level, with Monolithic (without any sandwich) fibre glass deck, fibre glass with PVC sandwich hull. Seamless, made in one piece tech, all made in vacuum with epoxy resin.

- ShockTech E level, with Monolithic carbon deck, carbon with PVC sandwich hull. Seamless, made in one piece tech, all made in vacuum with epoxy resin.

- Airtech E level, with carbon with PVC sandwich deck and hull. Seamless, made in one piece tech, all made in vacuum with epoxy resin.

Besides this we decided to go for a foam seat in all the models replacing the regular composite one. This was proved to be lighter, more comfortable, easier to customize and trouble free.

Soon we will have a belt as a option :-)

Peniche, cantinho da baía, final de tarde, e um surfkayak nas ondas. Nada de anormal. Mas... ao observarmos com maior atenção, depressa surgiu a questão... mas que kayak é aquele? Na água, Bruno Melo, shaper e rider da W, testava o novo brinquedo. Ricardo Ribeiro, munido da sua potente objectiva, saca as primeiras fotos. Primeiro, contactámos a Watertech na esperança que nos oferecessem um kayak só para não publicarmos as fotos... rotundo fracasso ;)

Rui Calado prontamente autorizou a publicação mas... de longe!!! E aqui fica a máquina. Claro que já a vimos de perto e Bruno Melo ainda anda a afinar alguns detalhes. Só dizemos mais uma coisa... é lindo!!!! Vamos esperar pelas NEWS ;)

Peniche, Portugal, two days ago, and a brand new surfkayak in the waves. The surfkayaker... Bruno Melo, shaper and rider of Watertech. Bruno was simply testing the prototype of the next surfkayak made by the portuguese brand. Ricardo Ribeiro took only these three photos that were authorized by Rui Calado for publishing. The new surfkayak seems to be really innovator. Let's wait for the next NEWS from Watertech ;) For now, congratulations! Great look!
